Our Story

Little Bao Boy is an independent street food trader from Leeds serving up home made Bao Buns and traditional Asian food with a western and contemporary twist.

Born in 2016 from the kitchen of founder James Ooi, Little Bao Boy has grown from its humble beginnings into a powerhouse of the UK food scene. Fast Forward to 2020 where JB joined James to help grow Little Bao Boy from just one site to where we are now. Boasting two permanent sites in Leeds as well as one in Manchester. Along with a residency at Shelter Hall Brighton and running all food operations at Londons Camden Round House.  Little Bao Boy has gone from strength to strength since the turbulence of Covid-19. Our Beef Bao was the most ordered item in Leeds, fending off the likes of Five Guys and Nandos.

2022 saw a collaboration with Sessions which spawned the first "dark kitchens" - delivery only sites - up and down the country.

However, Little Bao Boy hasn't forgotten where we came from. We believe in taking our food seriously, but not ourselves, staying loyal to our northern roots. With an endless stream of street food events, kitchen takeovers, weddings and parties throughout the year. Our team of dedicated event staff work hard to cater for your tastes and budget.
